RESCUE THE RUNWAY

It's that time of year again! Mr. Bones & Co Productions is putting on a fashion show to benefit rescue dog associations like One Lucky Dog, Animal Haven, Rescue-A-Bull and more. The event is hosted by Bethany Watson, who co-hosts Z100's morning radio show, and will be attended by all walks of life: big and small furry friends, kids, parents and FDNY hotties. New York's Hometown Heroes will be walking adoptee's down the runway to show off what could be yours....the dogs {not the hometown hotties}.

Even if you don't end up adopting a dog, your money will benefit the amazing non-profit rescues, and if that doesn't make you feel good enough, there's a Pitbull Kissing Booth that will make anyone's day!

DETAILS: MAY 30TH, 3-6pm, Houston Hall & Ticket Info

Dogtown Times!

dogtown-valentines

Good friend and artist Justin Karas is now collaborating with Dog-E-Dog to produce a series of comics exploring the exquisite lives of modern dogs in the urban sprawl of Dogtown USA. This project has gone from conception to execution in about 1 week's time. So we're as surprised by this as you may be...But for entertainment and awareness' sake, we're doing it!

Sooo, if you missed our world premier yesterday on Instagram , we have a unique handle just for these images and it's @dogtowntimes plus we'll be posting them on our regular @dogedog gallery too.

Dogtown Times will  start covering true stories from the Dog-E-Dog pack, featuring real pets from our roster. Soo if you are a client with a great story or a NEED to have a hilarious "dramatic re-enactment" illustrated this can be commissioned and published for pop-art prices! Just let us know...

All feedback is encouraged! Thanks y'all, hope you enjoy!

2014: a year that just disappeared!!

This year has completely disappeared. So many of you had kids or moved apartments or got new dogs, so many new dog businesses joined the neighborhood, some fled, and others even went under. Well, I want to stop for a minute and appreciate all that happens and changes in a year...which brings me to our new website and blog!

We really wanted to launch before the sun set on 2014, and we did it! Click around, check out the new changes!  Online registration makes signing up simple, the FAQ section helps you get your facts straight, and of course this blog will keep everyone up to date with our pack and worldly dog topics! We are not only starting 2015 with a new web presence, but new training services. I am training dogs and humans on a private basis for now, but group classes will be announced early in the coming year, so stay posted.

These past 4 years have been a pleasant blur...and it leaves me wondering "how did I get here?" It  seems like just yesterday that I knew I needed to leave the 9-5 grind in corporate midtown. It wasn't a good fit for me, even though I loved the city. So there I was flip-flopping careers, making pizza at Roberta's, assisting photographers, creating animations, volunteering at BARC, just chasing dreams. Despite how fun it was, it was a scary time for me--not knowing my career path. Yeah it seems like yesterday, but in reality it was almost 5 years ago that I "found dog".

That dog of course was Lady Madra. My walkers now refer to me as the Boss Dog, but it's really been Lady Madra since Day 1.  She has been my muse, my training experiment, my frustration, my teacher and of course she's been my best friend all along while I have been growing this thing called Dog-E-Dog...which she has seen go from 3 dogs to 10 dogs to over 100 animals and a small group of talented walkers. Of course she now also tolerates Mr Hank full time too ;-p

So how did I get here? I suppose I owe it to Lady...but it would be wrong not to mention a certain someone, a certain co-owner of Lady and Hank. Caroline Nolan is Dog-E-Dog's in house marketing director whose vision throughout the years has seen us through every iteration of our website, logo and promo material. Her design sense and general pillar of support has proven to be invaluable to the brand. Thank you so much Caroline, thank you!

And then there's you! All of you! Our supporters, our local dog community, our walkers and every one of you little furballs....you are the reason I am where I am today. Without you, your trust, your support, your friendship this wouldn't be possible!

Anyway, I don't mean to brag. It's not all rainbows, hearts and frenchies out there, 2014 was a tough year for us. We experienced growing pains, the old blog came to a halt, things got really busy with dog walking while I have had to spend many many hours honing my training style, some new back-end technical challenges presented themselves and after 4 years of working constantly it has been hard to stay motivated sometimes.  But alas, here we are, stronger than ever. Ready to blog again, ready to train more dogs, and ready to keep pushing local industry standards!

So without further ado, I am proud to present to you our new website's very first blog post, a photo gallery highlighting the adventures of your dogs in 2014!!
