how does this work?

First REGISTER HERE on the website. We will follow up with an email and set a time to meet at your home to talk about your pets routine and behavior as well as your needs and wishes. At this meeting, we will also need to collect two sets of keys. If you are interested in boarding, we will have to meet for a temperament test in one of our two boarding locations.

What's the difference between social and private walks?

Social walks are for dogs who are can walk amicably with different dogs and dog walkers, meaning they are not aggressive or a bite threat to dogs or people. Also, it's important they are not fearful in such a way that a social walk would make them anxious. If your dog does not meet the social criteria, they will need private visits. Unfortunately, these visits are more difficult to accommodate during peak hours, but aren't out of the question, so please ask.

How many dogs do you walk at one time?

4 is the maximum number of dogs we walk at one time during a social walk.

Do you ever take the dogs off-leash?

We will never take dogs off-leash unless the owners have requested or approved of an off-leash environment during a private visit or boarding.

WILL THE SAME PERSON WALK MY DOG EVERYDAY?

We are a small team of part time walkers, who are assigned different zones. While your dog won't have the same walker every time, they will only have a few walkers they get to know well.

When does the walker arrive?

We request a 2-hour window for arrival around your requested walk time. Please call so we can discuss your scheduling needs!

WHAT ABOUT THE CATS? OR OTHER ANIMALS?

YES!! Our cat visits are 25-30 minutes and include feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, and of course some kitty playtime.

We gladly handle other animals and have experience doing so. Have a unique pet..maybe, it's worth asking.

my pet is on medication, will you administer it?

Yes! Our walkers have experience administering different kinds medication to both dogs and cats.

ARE YOU BONDED AND INSURED?

Yes, all of our walkers are fully bonded insured. Some of our walkers also board dogs so additionally their homes are insured for boarding/daycare with a 5 dog limit.

WHAT AREA DO YOU SERVICE?

For walks and in home sitting, we service all of Greenpoint and most of Williamsburg {southern border is Grand St. east of the BQE and S. 5th west of the BQE}. We accept boarding and training requests from all over NYC.

WILL I GET UPDATES about my pet?

Absolutely! We do our best to provide informative (and entertaining)
updates via text message or email whenever your animal is visited.

HOW DOES IN-HOME PETSITTING WORK?

We will stay in your home with your dog overnight. This includes 3 walks, feedings, any medication and general house-sitting responsibilities if you would like! This option is great for those dogs who, for various reasons, would strongly prefer or need to stay in the comfort of their own homes while the owners are away.

DO YOU OFFER PICKUP/DROPOFF SERVICE?

Yes, the fee is $5 each way within our zone or $20 outside our zone.

will you WORK WITH DOGS that have
AGGREsSion OR BEHAVIORAL ISSUES?

Yes. Privately and in training sessions. We do our best to accommodate your dog's needs but can't put other dogs at risk.

I JUST GOT A PUPPY! What's the plan?

Oh so much to talk about! Contact Eric at info@dog-e-dog.org to discuss your training strategy. You can plan on private visits until your puppy is fully vaccinated and ready for social walks.

WHAT KIND OF TRAINING METHODS DO YOU PRACTICE?

Eric, the owner, is a dog trainer who is adamant about teaching a mixed approach, which means using a careful creative balance of reinforcement, redirection and a few lightly aversive techniques, if effective.

HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?

Monthly invoices are issued for clients on a regular schedule, otherwise you will get billed as you go. We accept cash, checks, Venmo and Paypal.

Do you need keys?

Yes, definitely. We ask for 2 sets of your keys and usually they are exchanged in our initial meet-n-greet. If this is impossible or expensive or in some other way complicated, please let us know, we will figure it out!

What is the first step?

It's easy to start, the first step is to fill out this form so we can learn more about your pup!
